Birthday Month

Well, we survived July, the month of birthdays. I turned 30 about a week after Elli's birthday; she organised a big surprise birthday picnic for me in a park which was a lot of fun.

I don't know what we're doing here either...

We also had Elli's parents across from the UK for three weeks - they'd just finished a six-month trip around the world, and Ottawa was their last stop before heading home. They spent a week here before heading to Toronto for a week; then they came back to Ottawa and we took a week's holiday at a cottage in Quebec.

The miracle of birth.

Despite some fairly poor weather it was still a very nice time. We swam most days, took the canoe and the little rowboat out, but mostly lay around and ate!
