Tremblant

Last Thursday we skivved off work and spent the day skiing at Mt. Tremblant.

Our friend Damian organised the whole thing, and along with Ahmed (from ultimate) and Elli's boss, who skivved off work as well, we had a pretty awesome day. It was bright and sunny, going from about -7 in the morning to about 5-6 at the end of the day.

Tremblant far outstrips anywhere else we've skied: the runs were loooong; the lifts fast and comfortable; and I hired some awesome parabolics which were like skiing on rays of sunshine.

The day was marred by Elli's boss fracturing his humerus, which was very unfortunate. He soldiered on for another couple of hours though, letting us ski out the day - hardcore! We ended the day with a Tremblant-tastic meal (paying the 2% "Tremblant tax" - I kid you not) and caught a snowboarding demonstration before heading back to Ottawa. Needless to say, Friday was a pretty sleepy day!

Some sports have evolved from a real and pressing need in day-to-day survival. Some have not.

Skiing on rays of sunshine sounds fun. Skivved work?

Is that the Canadian term for chucking a bull-shit arse sicky? If so, good to see you living up to the Aussie tradition as well as converting Elli's boss. I'm planning a skivving this Friday. YAY!
