Ulti League Finals

Phew, glad Ulti summer league is over! We played four games over the weekend in pretty brutal humidity... we are both sore this morning. Our last two games started at 9am Sunday morning which is way too early to be running around in my opinion.

We did decently; our 'good' team (on which Elli and I are probably the weakest links) did okay, finishing up 11th overall (out of 80-odd teams). We lost our first final 14 - 9... we were definitely all asleep for the first half (8 - 2), but we woke up in the second half and scored seven to their six. It was too little too late, obviously.

Our second final was a bit better, we beat our arch-nemesis team 11 - 8. To top it off, we won the spirit prize in our league, which entitled us to free beer and hotdogs. Wooo!

Carpe Disc

Our not-so-skilled team (on which Elli and I are among the stronger players) actually fared pretty well in the playoffs - partly due to having more subs than the other teams on a day where it was 35+ and 80% humidity. Due to winning our eight-team tier (which means we were 32nd of 80) we also got free beer! Not too shabby a haul.

Chicken Huckers

We are both looking forward to a couple of weeks off before fall league begins... my body definitely needs a break! This being-over-30 thing sucks.
